On Friday, April 11, 2025, the Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards proudly welcomed its third cohort of Year One students during a memorable matriculation ceremony. This year marked a significant shift in tradition, as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs) N.N. Oti, opted for a decentralised approach to the event, allowing each School (faculty) to host their ceremonies.

In a heartfelt gathering at our Centre, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as students took their first steps into their academic journey. Engr Prof Gloria Chukwudebe, the Centre Director, had the honour of representing the Vice-Chancellor during this momentous occasion. Her presence underscored the importance of this milestone for both the students and the institution.

The ceremony was further enriched by the participation of our Deputy Directors, who also serve as Heads of Departments (HODs). They proudly presented their students to the Vice Chancellor for induction, marking a significant rite of passage for the new entrants. The event was a celebration of academic achievement and a reaffirmation of the Centre’s commitment to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.

The matriculation ceremony served as a platform to inspire and motivate our Year One students, encouraging them to embrace the values of sustainability and social responsibility central to our Centre’s mission. As they embark on this new journey, we are confident they will contribute meaningfully to their fields and uphold the standards of excellence our Centre represents.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all matriculated students and look forward to witnessing their growth and achievements in the years to come. The future is bright at the Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards!

Go on, spread the good news, as we look forward to welcoming more students next year!
