Prof. Chris Nwoko Deputy Director of Environmental Standards
Environmental Standards is one of the three programme areas in the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Procurement, Environment and Social Standards (CE-sPESS). The Environmental Standards seek to contribute towards improving environmental practices among practitioners by the development of skills in the application of environmental management and monitoring tools used by practitioners, and the translation of theories and concepts of resource and environmental management into practices relevant to healthy communities and workplaces
Our team is made up of senior academics from the Earth Sciences, Environmental Management, Environmental Health, Soil Sciences and Microbiology. Our training will lead into these four areas of specialization in environmental studies: Livelihood and Environmental Resource Management, Environmental Risk Assessment and Management, Geographic and Environmental Information Systems, and Climate Change and Natural Resource Management.
In Environmental Standards, we have four core mandate programmes:
- Track A: Executive Short Courses
- Track B: Advanced Certificate
- Track C: Postgraduate Diploma
- Track D: Master’s Degree
- Track E: Bachelor’s Degree
We have established partnerships with leading Environmental agencies in Nigeria and abroad. Our research thrust cuts across pollution control, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and ecosystem restoration among others.
It is expected that our graduates will be able to achieve sustainable project implementation in their field engagements with less ecological footprint.
You are most welcome to join any of our tracks appropriate for your need.
